Is your stud making progress?
Unless the stud makes real genetic progress, its client, the commercial woolgrower, cannot improve.
The most important economic parameters of wool are fleece weight and fibre diameter. Nareeb Nareeb is using the latest technology of Estimated Breeding Values and national benchmarking to accurately measure and advance its genetics.
"Advanced Breeding Services" who process our figures and calculate our EPV's have calculated Nareeb Nareeb's genetic trends from ram & ewe performance figures since 1995 when we began using EPV's. It shows increasing CFW and reducing MFD which has been our objective. THE SYSTEM REALLY WORKS!!
To show the longer term position at Nareeb Nareeb, we publish figures of the stud's actual performance using the commercially important characteristics of cut per head and micron over the past 20 years.
To reduce the inaccuracies as far as possible, we have used the total productivity from the property as at 30 June from our statistics produced for the government. This includes all sheep, but excludes lambs.
We present these figures as graphs for your evaluation and judgement and we believe they demonstrate that real genetic progress is being made over the entire stud over time - not just on a few top sheep.
